Wendy Polish shares Massimo Vignelli’s belief that, ‘if you can design one thing, you can design anything.’ Born and raised in Southern California by 1st generation Finland immigrants, Wendy attributes her modern, honest design aesthetic to the strong Scandinavian influence in the textiles and furniture that adorned her childhood home.

Having earned a BFA from Art Center College of Design, in Pasadena, California, Wendy now has more than 10 years experience designing for a variety of mediums, including textiles, product packaging, branding and identity, as well as online media.

After years of experimentation with an underwater wax process invented by her father in the 1960s, Wendy co-founded luxury boutique candle company, LE FEU DE L’EAU in 2011. What began as an ‘elaborate fine art project,’ has now gained an international following. In addition to gracing the pages of Vogue, the line is now found in a variety of stores, including Clare Vivier, Steven Alan, and Anthropologie. She stays actively involved as the company’s Creative Director.

Wendy works as a freelance designer and creative consultant from her L.A. studio, and in her down time, enjoys screen-printing her own line of limited edition home goods. She resides with her family in Silverlake.
